Be More,Give More,Have Less.....

To swerve myself from demise of a soul who left for reasons unknown called for this travel plan.

It was spur-of-the moment plan that we took out off by booking a premium tatkal railway tickets a day ago and started our journey.

"There is almost no such thing as ready,
  There is only Now  "

The first hop out location was Devbaug.

We reached Devbaug by a jerky bus ride, halted along the way to have a look at the serenity of Tarkarli.

Tarkarli : Enroute Devbaug

Devbaug : Purely a State Of Mind

Solace, Sea food and some amount of water sports was the perfect recipe to get our minds distracted.

We started off with parasailing.

There was a trick in this activity ; you soar a little high they immediately dip you along the surface of the sea and then take you high up there.

The experience can only be described by this word - “Magical”.

A breath taking view of the beach, miniature sight of the seagulls, colorful palette sky, half dipped sun, unapologetic peace was enough for a wounded soul to heal.

If something scares you , it might be a good thing to try

It was short but my mind had already exclaimed "Encore".

We stepped out late night to a place called “ Bamboo” for dinner. We hogged over a fish plate.

Thick Surmai Gravy , Fried Surmai , Rice Roti, Pieces of Onion

The following day , we headed on a bike ( tripsy) straight  to visit the fort which is right in the middle of the sea, the Malvan Fort. A boat ferry dropped us there.

The view on the top brought out memories of the fort Aguada in Goa and the wonderful time spent there.

Fort : Malvan

Along the  bylanes of Malvan, just clicking pictures around:

Dried Fishes

After riding along the market area, we reached Achra , a small time village,  to crash for that night.

That evening , we went to the beach nearby , this is amongst the most secluded and the cleanest beaches I have come across.

Swim in the sea and drink the wild air

I strolled along the pristine waters of the beach watching only trails of my footsteps and then stood at one place wondering what the waves had to say.

I wondered how the world works in mysterious ways.

Instead of returning in the evening to what is locally known as sunset , a snippet of conversation with the companion convinced me to head towards the shore for some garam onion bhajiyas

In order to while away our time , we happen to visit a local temple of which my cousin had chanted stories.

Gives the Ones you love : Wings to fly, Roots to come back and Reasons to stay

The moment we stepped in the temple , a sweet melodious voice  inside somewhere beckoned me.

I sneaked in immediately to see who this person was. He introduced himself to us. He told us he has been composing since a very tender age.

On our insistence, he was humble enough to sing a few lines ( felt divine truly).

Music is eternal

And few more pictures :

f you are at the coast , how unlikely if you do not feast on chicken and vade and sol-kaddi.

Wade,Chicken and the mandatory curry : Sol-kadi

From Achra, we headed next day to my native to see my grand mom.

Suddenly a monochrome album of my summer holidays with my cousins flashed before me.

There is so much love and affection without wanting much in return except our time and company.

My grand-mom packed some fresh fruits from our backyard as I went uphill to visit the temple of our village .

Far away land

The delectable Malvan food , the heady aroma of the sea-cost and the shades of the orange sky ease you into the life of the fishermen.

Indulging in simple living on this isolated stretch of India's west coast you begin to appreciate the little things that we take for granted in cities.

Reminiscing the place which had become unfamiliar for years, the red soil I had forgotten the smell,  the route was lost somewhere made me realize that this is what has made me. This is where my roots are.

So we sailed on to the sun

Till we found a sea of green

And we lived beneath the waves

                                             In our yellow submarine
                                                                                              ---Beatles , Yellow Submarine

With beautiful memories to cherish I reluctantly bid adieu to this place with a promise to come back soon.
