5 Awesome Things To Do At Jaisalmer

After a lot of debate and discussion whether one should visit Rajasthan during Sept , I finally decided to let my foot out for Marwad.

Here are 5 things one should not miss at Jaisalmer -

1. Jaisalmer Fort

The view from the fort is incredible popularly known as the Golden City.Entry is free unlike other places. This is a historic fort. There are cafés on the edge of the fort with an epic view for dinner or sunset drinks.

2. Patwa Haveli

They say it took 50 years to complete the construction of this Haveli. This place is a home to the best paintings and intricate mirror work. A perfect blend of Hindu and Islam style of architecture.

3. Bada Bagh

This is the most unique place to visit.
The Maharaj had a cenotaph build for his father and many more in tribute for deceased relative.

4. Gadisar Lake

Most peaceful destination surrounded by a serene lake. There were hardly any tourist when we visited this place. We couldn't make it for sunset or sunrise but if you are able to make it that would be the great deal.

5. Best Part - Sand Dunes and Camel Safari

Sleeping under the starry sky in a dessert with just 6 camels.
Our guide was one of us to make sure of the arrangements. Dew drops made the sand moist so did our hearts
When we woke up, our guide served us morning maggi, chai and daliya for breakfast.
This experience was such an off beat one and the highlight of our trip.

The food in Rajasthan is delectable and if I have to visit this place for a food trip I would be game for it.

Here are some more pictures- So when are you packing your bags for Jaisalmer?
