Light Rules ....

Be it a huge reception of a top notch corporate conglomerate or an entrance lobby of a grande hotel or be it a double height ceiling corridor or the meeting rooms for discussing the corpolitics , one just cant avoid by passing this feature of an interior fit out .

I am talking about the fitment which illuminates the entire space and adds an exquisite beauty , elegance and aura to the work space or home space .

Lighting is a very important element of the occupier space design .It changes the mood as the perceived area of the room .Its placement and type are the fundamental aspects and work in conjunction with color selection , room size and day light availability. 

I happen to work on a project for the first time where in almost 14 different types of light fittings are used in a not so large area of 35000 sft ( Ground +2)

Some of the unusual and decorative fittings have made their way to this post .

My idea of this post is to take you all on a picturesque ride of the various fittings with their origin and over all feel and look  :

So all you people , brace yourselves for the amazing ride of lights :

 1. " Chignon " by Fontana Arte

     

This beauty is manufactured by the FontanaArte , an Italian Design Firm and involves timeless objects with splendid shapes some of which have also exhibited in the leading museums around the world .


2. " Skydro Sofitto " by Artimide

     

Situated at Pregnana Milanese , this aluminium die cast painted Aluminium ceiling lamp from Artimide , is the further development of the hydro series . A series of pebbles forms a bright sky reflecting the light that bounces on its bio-morphic surfaces. Artimide has its contribution in the history of International Design and are considered as design icons in contemporary designs bagging various awards at the Global levels .

3. " Sasso Up" by XAL.  

     

                     

 XAL Inc from USA has one of its product which is the cylindrical surface mounted LED.

The production facility and service unit is located in Oxford , Connecticut .These spots are     adjustible , tilted and can be customised to produce a concentrated , medium and flood light angle.This Sasso Up is so perfect for galleries , public places, walkways , receptions etc .Simple and Elegant  

4."Breaching Pendant " by Yellow Goat

"YeLLow GoaT " as the name may sound crazy they yet it is very cool and and a venture which never fails to excite .Their lighting travels from Australia to Newsland , USA , Kuwait and China .Each design is unique and has a thoughtful insights go in them .The image above could be a water exploding out of a fire hose or dolphins breaking the way on their beach.So alive , so full of movement , so full of energy . This light is my personal favourite out of the rest .

5. "Light Plane9 Wall" from Architectural Lights

           

The Lightplane 9 family of fixtures consists of two parallel aluminum channels approximately 9 inches across. Gimbal ring down lights are attached between the extrusions in a hardwired design.This firm is privately held unit in California , United States .The designs are tailor made to fit the designers' exact project requirements .The wall fitments are installed on the staircase passage and are kept on 24X7 as emergency lights.

This is how lights continue to impress and interest me in every project that I am associated with .

Every Light has a story to tell  after all the light fittings and lamps themselves are an element of the overall design and, when chosen to fit perfectly with the style of the room, they have the potential to give life to the space.
